Job Description 132kV Commissioning Engineer (Cx)

12-Month Contract – UK-Wide Substation Upgrade Framework

Overview:

Working across a 132kV substation upgrade framework, delivering commissioning, testing and energisation support on HV assets.

Responsibilities

Commission 132kV equipment (switchgear, transformers, P&C systems, auxiliaries)

Produce commissioning plans, test sheets, method statements and handover documentation

Complete FAT/SAT, functional testing and pre-energisation checks

Liaise with DNO/TSO representatives during energisation

Fault-find and provide technical support during installation/commissioning

Ensure compliance with safety rules and HV operational procedures

Record and submit commissioning reports and test results

Support project managers with progress updates

Requirements

Proven experience commissioning 132kV substation systems

Strong HV testing and protection/control understanding

Knowledge of UK DNO/TSO standards (NGET, SPEN, UKPN, SSE, etc.)

Nationwide mobility to support multiple sites
