Accountancy Practice - Audit Senior Manager
6 Days Old
As the retained recruitment partner to a highly respected national firm of Chartered Accountants, I am delighted to be representing their Kent office in the appointment of a Senior Audit Manager.
While the firm operates nationally, the Kent office has maintained a genuinely close-knit, collaborative culture. It combines the infrastructure, brand strength and technical support of a larger practice with the warmth and autonomy of a well-established regional firm. This is a key strategic hire as part of their ongoing growth and succession planning.
Role
This is a senior, review-focused position with responsibility for managing a significant and established fee base on behalf of the partners.
You will oversee a varied and interesting portfolio of clients including owner‑managed businesses, corporate groups and established SMEs across multiple sectors. The role is less about hands‑on fieldwork and more about leadership, technical review, client relationship management and commercial oversight.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of a substantial audit portfolio
Lead audit planning and completion stages
Review files to a high technical standard
Act as principal point of contact for key clients
Manage and develop audit managers and wider teams
Identify opportunities to grow and enhance your fee base
Work closely with partners on strategic client matters
Operate at a senior level within the office with real visibility and influence
Opportunity
The firm is committed to long‑term succession planning and there is a genuine pathway to partnership for the right individual. They are seeking someone who wants to build a future, not simply take a role. You will have the autonomy to grow your portfolio, strengthen client relationships and contribute to the strategic direction of the Kent office. The partners are approachable, commercially minded and supportive of ambitious individuals who demonstrate leadership capability.
About You
I am keen to speak with ACA or ACCA qualified professionals who are currently operating at Audit Manager or Senior Audit Manager level within a reputable firm.
Ideal Candidate
Have strong experience managing and reviewing audit assignments
Be technically confident across UK GAAP and ISAs

Cultural fit is important. The office values professionalism, approachability and long‑term client relationships. This would suit someone who enjoys leading from the front while being part of a supportive and personable team environment.
Why This Role Stands Out
Significant, high‑quality fee base from the outset
Predominantly review and leadership focused
Varied and interesting client mix
Strong family feel within a national firm structure
Clear and realistic route to partnership
Competitive remuneration and benefits
If you are an ambitious audit professional in Kent or considering a move into the region, and you are seeking a role with genuine long‑term potential, I would welcome a confidential discussion. Please contact Robin in the first instance.
