GeminiJobs are proud to be partnering with a North West London based accountancy firm who are in the market for an Accounts Assistant to join their rapidly growing practice. Established in 1956, our client has been serving clients as accountants, business advisors, and tax consultants and now have a total of four offices throughout London.
Must have 3-4 years accountancy practice experience

The Role
As Semi Senior Accountant, you will take responsibility for preparing and reviewing VAT returns, maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, and ensuring full compliance with UK VAT, CIS, and tax regulations. You will manage a varied client portfolio, predominantly owner-managed businesses, providing guidance on VAT rules, CIS treatment, and other accounting matters. Your role involves producing year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, self-assessment tax returns, and supporting clients with day-to-day financial queries. You will ensure accurate reporting, effective workflow management, and contribute to the efficient delivery of our accounting and compliance services.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare statutory accountsfor sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Assist with corporation taxand self-assessment tax returns
Manage VAT returnsand ensure compliance with HM Revenue and Customsregulations
Perform bookkeepingusing cloud accounting software and excel
Reconcile bank accounts and control accounts
Support year-end and month-end processes
Liaise with clients to gather financial information and resolve queries
Assist senior accountants and managers with audits (if applicable)
Maintain accurate financial records and working papers
