Practice Accountant - Mid tier firm Chelmsford, Essex £50,000 - £58,000 Are you an experienced Senior accounting professional looking to progress your career in a well sized and established accountancy practice? This highly successful and award winning Chelmsford based firm are now seeking a suitably qualified (ACA or ACCA) individual to take up a position that offers an excellent blend of accounts preparation, client engagement, and audit & advisory work whilst being able to develop and progress within a high-quality practice environment. The Role You’ll manage your own client portfolio while working closely with a diverse mix of SMEs, owner‑managed businesses, and local organisations across multiple sectors. Key Responsibilities

Review and prepare year‑end statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102‑1A as well as computations for corporation tax returns Gain oversight of the production and delivery of monthly and quarterly management reporting Reviewing quarterly VAT returns in readiness for submission to the HMRC Participate in the firm’s provision of audit services for in scope clients as well as tax planning as required Providing on‑going support and advice to clients Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards Contributing to a collaborative, supportive team culture

About You

ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 3+ years' practice experience working for a UK firm in the capacity of Senior Accountant or Semi‑Senior looking to step up. Confident in the provision of full year‑end accounts and ideally audit related obligations Strong communication and client‑facing skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Organised, detail‑driven, and committed to delivering high‑quality work
