About the Role
An international architectural studio is seeking a highly skilled Architect – Project Lead to join its dynamic team, specialising in transport infrastructure with a strong focus on airport design. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading design initiatives and ensuring the delivery of world-class aviation projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished architect with a passion for transport infrastructure to contribute to major UK and international airport developments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of large-scale airport and aviation-related projects from concept through to completion.
Develop innovative and sustainable architectural solutions that meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and stakeholders, to integrate architectural design with technical and operational requirements.
Provide technical expertise and design leadership to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Conduct feasibility studies, site evaluations, and design reviews to optimise project performance.
Liaise with clients, authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
Mentor and guide junior architects and designers within the team.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in airport and transport architecture.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in architectural design, with a strong emphasis on transport infrastructure and major airport projects in the UK and/or internationally.
Chartered Architect status (RIBA, ARB, or equivalent).
Demonstrated success leading large-scale airport terminal, airside, and landside infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of aviation regulations, airport master planning, and operational requirements.
Proficiency in architectural design software, including Revit , AutoCAD, Rhino, or equivalents.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
International project experience and familiarity with global airport standards.
Personal Attributes
Creative and enthusiastic with a strong passion for design.
Collaborative team player who thrives in diverse and fast-paced studio environments.
Competent in Revit and Adobe software, including InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp, etc.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
Interest in sustainable and net-zero airport design strategies.
