Role: Architect & Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) Location: Plymouth (projects across the region) Sector: Compliance Consultancy Salary: Up to £40,000 attractive benefits package Are you a Registered Architect looking to deliver Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) services? We are working with an independent compliance consultancy operating across the South of England, currently seeking a newly qualified Architect to join their growing team.

This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on design responsibilities with the delivery of BRPD services, working across a diverse portfolio within the built environment.
Based in Plymouth, the business delivers projects across sectors including residential, healthcare, MOD, heritage, and managed estates.
This role has been created in response to industry changes driven by the Building Safety Act, with a focus on integrating building safety and compliance services across the wider business and supporting clients through evolving regulatory requirements.
This position would suit an Architect with around 1 years post-qualification experience, who is looking to broaden their skillset within compliance and building safety.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential due to the client-facing nature of the role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and relevant building regulations Liaise with Principal Designers, Fire Engineers, MEP consultants, Principal Contractors, Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance Support clients through the relevant planning gateway processes Undertake plan checks and review designs for Building Regulations approval submissions Design and develop architectural concepts, plans, and detailed drawings Ensure all designs comply with planning legislation, building regulations, and safety standards Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure design intent and compliance are maintained Attend client and design team meetings, providing expert advice on building regulations compliance Provide technical guidance to clients, contractors, developers, and internal teams Ensure projects are delivered in line with current legislation and regulatory requirements Requirements Degree in Architecture or a related design discipline (desirable) Registered with ARB and/or a member of RIBA Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and relevant legislation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage client relationships and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams Salary & Benefits Salary up to £40,000 Travel and mileage expenses covered 25 days holiday bank holidays Company pension scheme Excellent CPD, training, and ongoing support from day one Hybrid working environment Professional membership fees covered Clear career pathway with strong progression opportunities If youre interested in this role and would like further details, please get in touch. xehkeey
