Job Description

Architectural CAD Technician (Contract – 3–6 Months)\n\nLocation: York or Pontefract\n\nWorking Pattern: Office-based with up to 2 days per week working from home\n\nDuration: 3–6 Month Contract\n\nStart: Immediate / ASAP\n\nOur Architectural practice client are currently seeking an experienced Architectural CAD Technician to join their team on a 3–6 month contract basis, which will be outside of IR35.\n\nThis role will support ongoing building projects and requires strong technical drawing ability, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of building construction.\n\nThis position is based in either York or Pontefract, with the option to work from home up to two days per week. Please note: fully remote applicants will not be considered.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProducing accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD\n\t\nDrawing and checking line work to ensure technical accuracy and compliance\n\t\nInputting and interpreting survey information into CAD drawings\n\t\nPreparing architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details\n\t\nAmending drawings in line with project and client requirements\n\t\nCoordinating drawing information with internal teams and consultants\n\t\nEnsuring drawings comply with current building regulations and industry standards\n\t\nSupporting the wider technical team with general CAD duties\n\nRequirements\n\nStrong, proven AutoCAD experience (essential)\n\t\nSolid understanding of buildings, construction methods, and detailing\n\t\nExperience working on UK-based building projects\n\t\nAbility to accurately interpret and input survey data\n\t\nExcellent attention to detail and line accuracy\n\t\nAbility to work independently and manage workload effectively\n\t\nStrong communication skills\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience working within architectural or building consultancy environments\n\t\nKnowledge of UK Building Regulations\n\t\nExperience producing technical construction details\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n3–6 month contract opportunity\n\t\nHourly rate negotiable circa £25.00 per hour.\n\t\nFlexible hybrid working (up to 2 days per week from home)\n\t\nOpportunity to work on varied building projects\n\t\nFriendly and professional working environment\n\nIf you have strong AutoCAD skills and a solid understanding of building construction, please apply. \n\nSuitable applications will be contacted immediately
