Architectural Technologist

We are looking to recruit a motivated Architectural Technologist / Technical Architect to join a large multidisciplinary design team based in Manchester city centre. The role will focus on the architectural design and delivery of a major industrial / manufacturing facility in the North West.
This is a contract appointment working as part of a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. Experience within the Defence sector would be advantageous, though candidates with strong experience delivering large-scale industrial or complex technical buildings are equally encouraged to apply.
The Role:
You will work as part of an integrated project team delivering technically complex buildings from concept through to detailed design, with a particular focus on RIBA Stages 2-4. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of defined packages and play a key role in coordination across disciplines.
You will be working closely with Architects, Technologists, Engineers, Interior Designers and Process Engineers within a well-established Northwest hub, contributing to the delivery of high-profile, technically demanding projects.
About You:
You will be a technically focused Architect or Technologist with experience in the design of industrial, manufacturing or process-driven facilities.
You Will Be:
- Experienced across multiple project stages, particularly technical design and delivery - Confident working on complex, large-scale projects - Knowledgeable in UK Building Regulations and compliance requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of the architectural design process from concept to detailed design - Proven experience working within multi-disciplinary teams, including coordination, interface resolution and clash management - Ability to produce and review detailed technical drawings and specifications - Experience advising on materials, systems and performance-based design solutions - Proficiency using NBS for specifications - Advanced Revit capability, delivering projects to BIM Level 2 - Experience with collaboration and coordination tools such as Navisworks, including model federation, clash detection and reporting - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders - Organised, detail-focused and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines - A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach
Security Clearance:
This role requires the ability to obtain SC clearance prior to commencement. Candidates must be willing to undergo vetting through UK Security Vetting (UKSV) and typically demonstrate 5+ years UK residency.
