Reporting to the Area Delivery Manager, you'll be a key leader within the Area team, providing strong operational expertise and stepping in to lead the division when required. Your focus will be on driving performance, improving customer experience at every touchpoint, and supporting our field teams to succeed. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and operational success of the division, influencing the build of the divisional budget and working closely with Regional Delivery Managers to ensure it's delivered confidently and effectively. Through clear insight, strong coaching and collaborative leadership, you'll help turn plans into results. Alongside this, you'll partner with key stakeholders including the Area Delivery Manager, Depot Compliance Manager and Delivery Performance Business Lead, building strong relationships that drive performance, maintain standards and keep the operation moving forward at pace. Day to day you'll be accountable for Providing operational cover for the Area Delivery Manager and ensuring consistent seven-day leadership across the division. Coaching Regional Delivery Managers, Assistant Regional Delivery Managers and Community Managers to improve customer experience and delivery performance throughout the final mile. Contributing to the creation and delivery of a performance development strategy, including recommendations for training and continuous improvement. Leading the successful implementation and adoption of performance and operational changes across the division. Providing financial and performance insight to support key operational decisions that improve customer and client satisfaction. Leading planning and resource coverage for the area, including Peak planning, round modelling, volume forecasting and sub-depot reviews. Acting as the functional specialist for planning within the division, setting clear expectations and demand to ensure efficient operations. Sharing responsibility for operational standards, working closely with the Area Delivery Manager, Division Manager and Commercial Managers. Supporting strong and effective divisional union relationships alongside the Area Delivery Manager. Guiding and coaching managers on the successful implementation of performance documentation and standards. Still interested? Take a look at what you'll need to succeed A current UK driving licence IOSH qualification or equivalent Strong understanding of the self-employed courier model Experience working in a customer-focused environment Experience of setting and managing budgets A proven track record of coaching, supporting and motivating colleagues Confidence in problem solving, planning and implementing effective solutions This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, analysing performance, coaching leaders, and turning insight into action.
