Area Sales Manager – South East

£58,000 Basic + Commission + Company Benefits

We are working in partnership with a well-established and respected distributor within the building materials sector to recruit an experienced Area Sales Manager to cover the South East region.

Territory: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, South West London and South London

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven sales professional with 2–3 years’ experience in field-based sales who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and growth-focused business.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and managing existing accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities across your territory. The role will involve regular customer visits, relationship building, and working closely with contractors, merchants, and trade customers to grow market share.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and developing a defined sales territory

Building strong relationships with existing customers

Identifying and winning new business opportunities

Delivering against sales and margin targets

Producing accurate forecasts and activity reporting

Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service

About You

We are seeking candidates with:

2–3 years’ field sales experience (ideally within building materials, construction products, or a related sector)

Strong relationship-building skills

A proactive and self-motivated approach

Commercial awareness and target-driven mindset

*

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

*

Full UK driving licence
