Mechanical Assembly Operative
on behalf of our client, a well-established and fast-growing engineering and manufacturing business based in
Aylesbury . Our client operates at the forefront of thermal technology and is known for producing high-quality engineered products within a supportive, team-focused environment.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated individual with a manufacturing background to join our clients Production team. The role is hands-on and based within a busy production environment, with a strong focus on
mechanical assembly, including the build and assembly of heat exchanger units and associated thermal equipment .
Reporting Line & Team
You will be part of the Production team and will report directly to the Team Leader . You will work closely with engineers, supervisors, project managers, and fellow production operatives, with full support provided across the business.
Shift Patterns & Working Hours
The role is offered on either an
Early Shift
or a
Late Shift :
Early Shift (37 hours per week)
Monday to Friday:
6:00am
2:00pm
Late Shift (Monday to Friday)
Monday to Thursday:
1:30pm
11:30pm
Friday:
1:30pm
11:00pm
This shift attracts a
15% shift allowance
Requirements
A minimum of
2 years experience
within a manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment
Previous experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, or production-based roles is highly desirable

Key Skills Required
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, primarily
Third Angle Projection drawings
Competence in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
A methodical, safety-conscious approach to mechanical assembly
Key Responsibilities
Assembly of
heat exchanger units
and related thermal products in line with engineering drawings and specifications
Mechanical fitting and assembly of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products
Accurately reading and interpreting engineering drawings and build instructions
Carrying out fitting and assembly work as directed by the Team Leader
Following work instructions provided by engineers, project managers, and supervisors
Ensuring assemblies meet required quality standards and tolerances
Participating in quality checks and inspection processes
Identifying and reporting any build issues, defects, or improvement opportunities
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production area
Maintaining high levels of productivity while ensuring accuracy and safety
Carrying out production duties as directed by the Team Leader
Assisting in other production areas or duties as required
Working safely with production plant, machinery, and equipment
General Duties
Acting in the best interests of the company at all times
Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding company information
Ensuring all company procedures and standards are followed
Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area
Complying fully with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
Training & Support
Training and development requirements will be identified and agreed in consultation with the Team Leader, with ongoing support provided to help the successful candidate succeed and develop within the business.
