Relocation Opportunity for a talented Assistant General Manager needed for a stunning restaurant off the Coast of England. £60,000+ per annum.

9.5-month contract (paid over 12 months)

Smyth & Co are thrilled to be recruiting for an Assistant General Manager to join an exceptional venue on the stunning South Coast of England. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader to support the General Manager in overseeing operations at a high-performing coastal restaurant in a vibrant seasonal setting.

The Role:

Salary: £60,000+ per annum + Tips

Contract: 9.5 months (February to December), with full 12 months’ pay

Leave: Enjoy 2.5 months off over Christmas – no on-site work during this period

Accommodation: Provided for the first 3 months to support relocation to the Isle of Wight

Restaurant Overview:

Daily Covers:

  • March to June: 250 per day
  • June to September: 500–600 per day (operating 7 days a week in peak season)


Team Size: 40–50 including front-of-house and kitchen teams

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing all front-of-house and overall restaurant operations
  • Take a hands-on leadership role in delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-volume environment
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a large FOH team, particularly during peak seasonal trade
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and senior leadership team to ensure seamless service and operational excellence
  • Drive staff training, service standards, and team performance
  • Step into full management responsibility in the absence of the General Manager


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Deputy General Manager in a high-volume, premium hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Experience managing large, seasonal teams in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences
  • Willingness to relocate to the Isle of Wight for the duration of the contract
