Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Solihull

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000

Reporting to: Finance Manager

To support the Finance Manager in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts. The Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control and providing meaningful financial insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with variance analysis and provide commentary on financial performance
Support cash flow forecasting and monitoring
Maintain fixed asset register
Assist with year-end audit preparation
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures
Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by the Finance Manager

Person Specification

Qualifications

AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA)

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline (desirable)

Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
Experience assisting with management accounts preparation

Experience with accounting software and Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
