Assistant Quantity Surveyor\n\nBank, City of London\nCompetitive Salary + Package\nTier 2 Main Contractor | Cut & Carve Refurbishment | Hospitality\nPermanent PositionI am currently working with a well-established Tier 2 Main Contractor who specialise in delivering complex cut & carve refurbishment projects across London, operating within the commercial office, student accommodation, hospitality, leisure, and healthcare sectors.\n\nDue to the award of a high-profile scheme, they are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a hospitality refurbishment project near Bank, City of London.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to technically challenging refurbishment works within a busy Central London environment, working alongside experienced Senior Surveyors and Commercial Managers.\n\nThe Project\n\nThe project involves the cut & carve refurbishment and conversion of an existing building into a high-quality hospitality venue. Works include structural alterations, internal reconfiguration, MEP coordination, and high-specification fit out.\n\nThe scheme presents logistical and technical challenges typical of City of London projects, providing excellent experience for a commercially ambitious Assistant QS.\n\nThe Role\n\nReporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\nAssisting with procurement of subcontract packages\nSupporting subcontractor management and administration\nPreparing and assisting with interim valuations and cost reports\nManaging and tracking variations and change control\nAssisting with subcontractor payments and final accounts\nMonitoring project costs and maintaining accurate commercial records\nAttending site and commercial meetings as required\nSupporting the commercial team to ensure financial targets are achievedYou will gain full exposure to the commercial lifecycle of a complex refurbishment project.\n\nRequirements\n\n1-3 years' experience working within a main contractor environment\nExperience in refurbishment, fit out, or commercial construction \nDegree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar\nStrong numerical and analytical skills\nOrganised, detail-focused, and commercially aware\nAmbitious with a clear desire to progress within a Tier 2 contractor environmentWhy Apply?\n\nWork on a high-profile hospitality scheme in Central London\nGain experience on technically complex cut & carve refurbishment projects\nJoin a respected Tier 2 contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work\nStructured progression and mentorship from senior commercial staff\nCompetitive salary and packageThis role would suit an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop within a technically strong contractor delivering complex refurbishment schemes across London.\n\nFor a confidential discussion, please get in touch
