This role offers excellent exposure to all aspects of construction commercial management and strong opportunities for career progression.\n\nThe Role\n As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support Senior and Quantity Surveyors in the commercial management of live construction projects.

This is a blended role involving office-based tasks alongside site visits, giving you hands-on experience in contract administration and cost control. You will be involved in measuring, reporting, and supporting the financial aspects of projects under the guidance of senior commercial staff.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n * Assisting with measurement and preparation of valuations\n * Supporting cost control and reporting processes\n * Assisting with subcontractor procurement and enquiries\n * Supporting the preparation of variations, certificates, and accruals\n * Monitoring project progress and costs in coordination with site teams\n * Administration of JCT and NEC contracts\n * Maintaining accurate records and commercial documentation\n * Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers in commercial tasks\n\nAbout You\n\nExperience and Skills\n * Some experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction (main contractor experience preferred but not essential)\n * Knowledge of basic measurement and cost control processes\n * Familiarity with JCT or NEC contracts desirable\n * Good IT skills, including Excel and commercial systems\n * Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related discipline (desirable but not essential)\n\nPersonal Attributes\n * Eager to learn and develop within a commercial team\n * Strong attention to detail and numerically competent\n * Organised and able to manage multiple tasks\n * Confident communicator with team-focused approach\n * Motivated, proactive, and professional\n\nWhat's On Offer\n * Salary £30,000-£42,000 + package depending on experience\n * Car allowance, pension, and private healthcare\n * Enhanced annual leave and flexible benefits\n * Structured training and mentoring with clear progression to Quantity Surveyor\n * Exposure to a variety of projects across multiple sectors\n * Supportive, professional, and collaborative working environment
