An established and growing main contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a high-profile commercial office refurbishment in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to gain exposure to a complex cut-and-carve, CAT A refurbishment scheme in a prime City location. The project involves a back-to-frame redevelopment including structural alterations, faade upgrades and high-spec finishes. The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the commercial lifecycle. For this Assistant Quantity Surveyor position, you will support the commercial team in managing subcontract packages and maintaining cost control throughout the project. Day-to-day duties: Assisting with subcontract procurement and tender analysis

Preparing enquiry documentation and comparing returns

Supporting valuations and variation assessments

Assisting with cost reporting and monthly CVRs

Managing subcontractor payments and applications

Supporting change control processes

Maintaining accurate commercial records

Working closely with site and project teams

For this Assistant Quantity Surveyor role, the successful candidate will require the following: 13 years experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee QS role

Experience working with a UK main contractor preferred

Exposure to commercial refurbishment or office projects desirable

Good understanding of JCT contracts

Strong numerical and organisational skills

Degree qualified or working towards a Quantity Surveying qualification
