With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for delivering complex schemes safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, they are looking to strengthen our commercial team with the appointment of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor based on site in Manchester.The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a major project in Manchester. Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider project team, you will assist in ensuring that project costs are controlled, subcontractor packages are managed effectively, and commercial performance is maximised.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career with a dynamic contractor delivering large-scale schemes.Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and management of subcontract packages from procurement through to final account Support the preparation of interim valuations and cost reports Monitor project costs and track variations Assist with the assessment and processing of subcontractor applications and payments Help prepare tender documentation and analyse subcontractor returns Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation Work closely with site and project management teams to ensure cost efficiency and value Support the commercial team with forecasting and reporting Requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline 13 years experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveyor role (main contractor experience preferred) Strong numerical and analytical skills Good knowledge of construction processes and commercial management Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work effectively within a site-based team environment Ambition to develop professionally and progress within the commercial function The Package Competitive salary and benefits package Career progression opportunities within a growing contractor Exposure to large-scale and high-profile construction projects Supportive team environment with ongoing professional development How to ApplyIf you are looking to take the next step in your Quantity Surveying career and want to be part of a dynamic project team in Manchester, we would love to hear from you.JBRP1_UKTJ
