Rake’s Café Bar is an all-day dining and cocktail venue near Liverpool Street, offering a relaxed daytime café atmosphere and a vibrant evening bar experience with live DJs.

Duties and responsibilities related to the Assistant Restaurant Manager role

• Support the Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth service, strong financial performance, and an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise the team, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.
• Coordinate and deliver efficient, friendly food and beverage service, stepping into service when required.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management to build a high-performing team.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and maintain clear communication with the kitchen and wider management team.
• Monitor and uphold brand standards, including cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, stock control, and cost management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the Manager with projects and operational goals.

About You

You bring solid experience in hotel food & beverage operations, ideally within a premium or lifestyle environment.

Highly organised and confident in a fast-paced setting, you balance hands-on service with strong operational oversight. With a guest-first mindset, you ensure every interaction reflects the outlet’s standards. Your leadership style is supportive and consistent, enabling you to guide, motivate, and develop your team while maintaining high levels of quality, efficiency, and attention to detail.
