The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join their expanding tax team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio spanning compliance and advisory work across multiple sectors and business sizes. You'll manage complex tax matters while developing strong client relationships and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tax advisory services on corporate restructurings, mergers, and acquisitions
Deliver tax due diligence reviews and purchase price allocation support
Advise on capital allowances claims and optimization strategies
Handle R&D tax credit claims and creative industry tax reliefs
Provide guidance on loss relief planning and group restructuring
Advise on diverted profits tax, anti-hybrid rules, and international tax matters
Qualifications
ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified
Minimum 5-8 years in UK corporate tax practice
Strong understanding of UK corporation tax, group relief, capital allowances, and international tax principles
Experience working with both SMEs/OMBs and larger corporates or listed entities
Proficiency in CCH, IRIS, or similar tax software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex tax matters clearly
Strong business sense with practical, solution-oriented approach
Previous FTSE or listed company tax experience
Exposure to M&A tax due diligence and transaction support
Knowledge of IAS 12 and deferred tax accounting
Experience with international tax matters and transfer pricing
Big 4 or top 100 firm background
Experience managing HMRC enquiries and technical disputes
Understanding of digital tax requirements and tax technology
