This niche firm has built an exceptional reputation within the charity and not for profit sector and partners with a wide range of organisations, from nationally recognised charities to smaller community based entities.\n\nDue to continued growth, both organically and through acquisition, our client is seeking an Audit Manager or Senior Audit Manager to join their expanding Brighton team. The firm is committed to becoming the and trusted advisor within this important sector.\n\nThey offer a collaborative, learning focused culture where individuals are encouraged to develop their technical expertise and take ownership of their progression without the constraints often found in larger practices.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a primarily office based position in Brighton, with occasional travel to client sites or the firm’s other office as required.\n\nYou will play a key role in shaping the future of the audit function, supporting the leadership team in expanding the division and enhancing operational capability.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\nManaging audits from planning through to completion\n\nLeading audit teams in the field and supporting the development of junior staff\n\nReviewing audit work and progressing team members through planning and testing stages\n\nPreparing and reviewing statutory accounts in compliance with FRS102 and the Charity SORP\n\nProviding technical support to both audit and accounting teams\n\nManaging your own portfolio of clients\n\nSupporting Directors with acquisition and contributing to the firm’s ongoing growth\n\nYou will report directly to the Head of Audit and work closely with senior leadership.\n\nRequirementsAbout You\n\nThe successful candidate will be ACA qualified or nearly qualified, with a strong audit background gained within practice.\n\nYou will demonstrate:\n\nStrong technical accounting knowledge\n\nAll round practice experience including audit and accounts\n\nThe ability to be hands on and actively involved in audit fieldwork\n\nExperience leading audit teams and mentoring junior staff\n\nExcellent communication skills with both colleagues and clients\n\nA keen eye for detail\n\nExperience within the charity or not for profit sector would be advantageous\n\nExperience with IRIS and My Working Papers software would be beneficial.\n\nBenefitsThis role offers genuine progression, with the potential to move quickly into a Senior Manager position and ultimately to Responsible Individual status.\n\nYou will benefit from:\n\nExposure to high quality technical work within a specialist sector\n\nDirect mentorship from senior leadership\n\nThe opportunity to grow and manage your own client portfolio\n\nA competitive salary of £45,000 to £52,000\n\n5 percent pension contribution on full salary\n\nStudy support where applicable\n\nA flexible, office led and remote friendly working environment\n\nPlease contact Mark Sitton on (phone number removed), or via for a confidential conversation. \nRefer a friend... \n\nWe’re keen to remain the leading provider of the best accountancy talent in the South-East.
