Make an Impact in our Audit Technical Team at RSM UK

Our National Audit Technical Services (NATS) is responsible for maintaining and driving technical quality of the audit firm's operational procedures, providing technical support to partners and staff on technical auditing and methodology issues, audit reporting matters, and conducting engagement quality reviews.

We need to expand further our audit technical team to meet anticipated growth in our audit practice, continue to provide technical auditing support, ensure quality is maintained, identify efficiencies in working practices and lead on implementing audit methodology and reporting changes as they are published in the future, so this is an exciting time to join the team as a Technical Senior Manager and be part of our journey!

This role can be based out of any of our UK offices, but some travel will be expected to regional offices.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Acting as an audit methodology specialist on complex audits, providing audit teams with targeted expertise on the subject matter to support high audit quality
  • Performing second opinion reviews of technical auditing matters under UK ISAs, developing our audit teams in the process
  • Assisting with audit methodology and reporting consultations submitted to the firm’s service desk
  • Drafting audit methodology and audit reporting internal technical communications and practice aids
  • Being a point of contact for informal technical queries from client-facing Partners and staff in your local region but also supporting other offices nationwide

What we are looking for:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified - or equivalent
  • Experience of working as a Manager or Senior Manager within a technical team would be preferred however candidates from larger firms working on audit methodology will also be considered
  • Strong audit methodology and audit reporting knowledge
  • Experience of performing engagement quality reviews, reviews of qualified and modified audit reports and involvement in audit methodology issues within their firms
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
