Automation & Controls EngineerWest Midlands | C£60k neg. + BenefitsAre you an Automation & Controls Engineer looking to work on complex, high-value systems used in cutting-edge, real-world applications across the globe?Join a leading engineering business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke motion platforms, mechanical systems, immersive media and control software, delivering turnkey solutions to an international client base.The RoleYou'll play a critical role in the design, development and deployment of advanced control systems, supporting the delivery of precision-engineered, safety-critical systems from concept through to installation.Working closely with mechanical, software and systems engineers, you'll help ensure projects are delivered to exacting technical, quality and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement control systems for complex electromechanical equipmentDevelop, test and maintain PLC, HMI and motion control softwareProduce accurate technical documentation including schematics, BOMs and manualsEnsure systems meet relevant safety, quality and compliance standardsCollaborate across engineering teams to deliver integrated solutionsContribute to product development and continuous improvement initiativesAbout YouDegree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar3+ years' experience in automation / controls engineeringStrong experience with PLCs (IEC61131), VFDs and motion control systemsIdeally experience with Beckhoff PLCsProven track record delivering complex electromechanical systemsDetail-oriented with a hands-on, problem-solving approachConfident communicator, comfortable working with cross-functional teamsDesirable:Experience with AV systems or immersive technologiesKnowledge of electrical design packages and system integrationExperience supporting international projects or installationsWhat's on OfferC£60k negotiable base salary - dependant upon experiencePension & holiday entitlementOpportunity to work on high-profile international projectsTravel opportunitiesOngoing training and professional developmentA dynamic, innovative engineering environment??
