We are partnering with a fast-growing automation solutions provider delivering flexible, pay-as-you-go robotics and automation services to the manufacturing sector. With no CapEx or long-term contracts, their unique business model removes traditional barriers to entry, helping clients streamline internal logistics with minimal disruption. As part of their ambitious growth plans, they are now seeking a hands-on Automation & Robotics Engineer to support solution delivery from concept to commissioning.
About the Role:
As an Automation & Robotics Engineer, you will play a vital role in the full project lifecycle, from initial client engagement through to design, build, programming, testing, installation, and commissioning. Working directly with customers across the UK, this field-based position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on variety, autonomy, and direct impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Support sales team through client site visits and on-site demos Conduct feasibility assessments and develop automation solutions Design mechanical, electrical, and control systems in collaboration with internal teams Assemble, configure, and build systems aligned with specifications Own PLC programming (primarily Siemens), including development, testing, and fault-finding Install, commission, and hand over solutions at client sites, including training and documentation
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in automation, robotics, or a similar engineering role Strong hands-on knowledge of PLCs (preferably Siemens) Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, agile team Experience with AGVs, AMRs, or industrial automation systems Background in lean manufacturing or process improvement Familiarity with electronic installations
