The senior operational management lead works across cancer services alongside the operational team, divisional clinical director and head of nursing. The role involves working with senior clinical leaders and managers to drive and deliver excellent management leadership, support and capacity, ensuring effective management underpins the leadership of cancer pathways and supports the translation of leadership decisions into the transformation of service delivery. Responsibilities
Provide senior management leadership supporting the division’s contribution to the business unit and Trust agenda and national plan within the clinical and corporate governance frameworks of the Trust. Remain up to date with changing objectives, external guidance, frameworks and directives, advising the division as necessary. Promote world‑class care that is patient‑centred, involves service users, responds positively to feedback from user groups and promotes teamwork across services. Promote a culture of safety and quality, openness and accountability, public service and teamwork in an environment of flexibility in which innovation can flourish in response to patients’ needs. Lead on delegated Clinical Practice Group work and promote the use of improvement methodology in day‑to‑day working for all staff in the division. Support and manage the division to meet Trust and Monitor performance objectives. Develop appraisal, objective‑setting and performance development plans for all relevant staff, ensuring that all staff groups covered by the post‑holder have clear objectives set as part of their appraisal with professional heads. Ensure the delivery and compliance of mandatory training requirements for all staff.
