Befriender Volunteer

We are looking for a befriender volunteer to meet with people we support once or twice per week at our service in East Finchley. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person-centred services.
We are looking for an outgoing, sociable and warm person, who's also a good listener. As a befriender, you will provide companionship to some of the people we support by meeting them at home or in the community for a cup of tea and a chat. You will also engage in activities with the people we support, such as playing board games. If you have a few hours to spare on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays, we would love to hear from you!
This role is for a supported living service which supports people with learning disabilities. We currently have 10 tenants living in self-contained flats at the service which is located in East Finchley with good transport links.
Hours:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, timings are flexible
Volunteer Duties: • Meet on a regular basis • Provide companionship and conversation whilst respecting boundaries • Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members • Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries • Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
