At Southern Housing , we have an exciting opportunity for a Building Safety Co-ordinator to join our welcoming and collaborative Building Safety team.
In this role, you will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your skills and knowledge in a critical area of building safety and housing compliance.
You will take responsibility for managing and responding to a wide range of enquiries related to Building Safety claims, including matters arising from reactive and planned inspections, safety assessments, and required remedial actions. You will oversee the day-to-day management of team mailboxes, ensuring all claim-related queries are handled promptly, accurately, and with a consistently high standard of customer service.
Your administrative support will be vital to the efficient running of the Building Safety Claims functioncoordinating operational activities, organising meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, and issuing internal and external communications that support the progression and resolution of claims.
The role is based in our office at Farringdon and offers hybrid working arrangements of 2 days per week in the office and 3 days
work from home. This is a Fixed Term Contract role until 29 January 2027 .
What youll need
:
A strong background in administration, ideally within a housing or safety-related environment
Confidence using IT tools to produce reports, documents, emails, and mail merges
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain solutions clearly and in a customer-friendly way - whether face-to-face, over the phone, or in writing
A pragmatic and creative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to evaluate issues and identify effective solutions quickly
A strong understanding of how to prepare and manage documentation so that it meets legal, regulatory, and funder requirements (desirable)
Awareness of limitation periods and the ability to track and monitor these effectively to support timely action (desirable)
