The LifecycleSurveyor willbeworkingonourPFISchoolsContractwithinDalkiaScotlandFacilities. Fromreactiveandplannedmaintenance,projectdeliveryandlifesafetysystemstoenergyandlifecyclemanagement,weworkwitheachschooltoprovidelocal,responsiveserviceandvalueformoney.Togetherwithteachersandtheschoolssupportteam,wereworkingtocreateteachingandlearningenvironmentswherepupilsexcel.
Whatyou'llbeworkingon... The LifecycleSurveyor ,willbereportingto,andsupportedbytheLifecycleManager, todeliveralargewide-rangingprogrammeofworksonourPFISchoolsContract. The Surveyors mainobjectiveswillbetosupporttheLifecycleteam,maximiseprojectprofitability,minimiseprojectrisk,andensurecontractualobligationsaremet. ThePFISchoolsitesarelocatedacrossthecentralbeltinEastDunbartonshireandSouthLanarkshire.Travelout-withtheseareaswouldrarelyberequired,forexampleasitevisitorclientmeetingforothercontracts,oratraining/personaldevelopmentcourse.
TheSurveyorRole TheLifecycleTeamispartoftheDalkiaFacilitiesManagementbusinessunit.Thisrole,supportedbytheLifecycleTeam,willgainvaluableexperienceforsurveyorcareerprogressioninmanycompetencies. ThisSurveyorroleisnotatypicalconsultanttypeposition.Youwillnotbeworkingawayfromhome.Youwillnotbecarryingouthighvolume,repetitivebuildingsurveys.Youwillnotbeproducinghighvolume,repetitivereports.
Thisroleincludes: Identifyingworksrequired Preparingbudgetcosts,scopeofworks,design&specifications Workingwithoursupplychainofsub-contractors&suppliers Procurement/TenderStagefollowedbyTenderReview ProjectManagement Identifyingwhatworksarerequiredandseeingthatthroughtocompletion. VarietyofWork: InternalRefurbishment(e.g.flooring,decoration,joinery,fixtures&fittings,equipmentetc.) ExternalWorks(e.g.civils,landscaping,sportsgrounds,roofing,doors,windowsetc.) Mechanical&Electricalbuildingservices Fire&SecuritySystems The Surveyor isexpectedtohaveahighstandardofcommunicationandITskills,withaprofessionalattitude,initiativeandmotivationtolearn.
MainDuties Undertakingbuilding(fabricand/orservices)conditionsurveys Undertakingdefectorreactiveunplanneddiagnosisinspections Instructingandmanagingconditionsurveysand/orreactiveunplannedinspections. PreparingReports/SchedulesofCondition AssistingtheLifecycleTeamwith: producingtheConditionSurveyFiles(Excelformat) producingandupdatingtheLifecyclePlanning&ProgressFiles(Excelformat) keepingallrelevantProgramme&Trackerfilesuptodate(Excel&MSProjectformat) IssuingWorksInformationtoContractorsforpricing Preparationofbudgetcostingsforproposedprojects Projectcostmanagement&administration Preparing,manageanddeliverthesupplychaintenderprocessincludinganynecessarydocuments&schedulesofwork Qualityassurancechecksofongoingandcompletedworks LiaisingwithandreportingtoClients.
ProfessionalDevelopment FuturegrowthopportunitiesareavailablewithintheLifecycleTeam,includingtakingonmoreresponsibilityandownershipformanagementanddeliveryofspecificworkpackages Dalkiawillfullysupportfuturecareerdevelopment,forexampleworkingtowardsfullmembershipwiththeRoyalInstituteofCharteredSurveyors(RICS),ortheCharteredInstituteofBuilding(CIOB).
