About the Role
A well-established University is seeking a proactive and technically capable Building Surveyor to join their Estates & Facilities Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step up or transition into a surveying-focused position, especially if you have strong experience managing low-value maintenance projects or cyclical building condition surveys.

Key Responsibilities
Condition & Maintenance
Take full ownership of building condition surveys across the estate.
Maintain and update all associated records, including cost data.
Provide professional building fabric project services to internal stakeholders.
Carry out emergency surveys and manage long-term defects relating to building fabric and roof structures.
Compliance & Safety
Act as a technical expert for building fabric compliance and maintenance.
Support lifecycle replacement, refurbishment, and adaptation projects.
Review, audit, and maintain the University's Fire Management Safety arrangements, including:
Fire precaution remedial works
Building Fire Manuals
Actions arising from Fire Risk Assessments
Undertake regular access audits to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
Regulatory Support
Ensure building assets comply with statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Assist in mitigating legal, financial, and health & safety risks related to building management.
About You
Essential Experience
Experience managing maintenance projects, condition surveys, or building fabric assessments.
Strong understanding of building fabric, compliance, and asset management.
Desirable Experience
Experience within estates, education, housing, or public sector property management.
Background in maintenance surveying, stock condition surveying, or building maintenance management.
Qualifications
Surveying-related education or qualifications are highly desirable.
ARICS or working towards APC is advantageous but not essential.
