We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Business Development Director to join a leading translation & language services (LSP) company that specialises in the key business sectors of life sciences, clinical trials, medical and related pharma technology. Their markets cover Europe and extended to North America and APAC making them a specialist leader in their field.

Language requirements for the job:
Fluent English is essential. Knowledge of another language is an advantage (due to the industry), but not essential.

Location of the job:
100%, fully remote working + regular international travel

Company background:
Our client is a leading translation & LSP (language services provider) company servicing major sectors. They have high-value translation contracts with recognized companies across Europe and North America.

Job responsibilities of the Business Development Director:

• Manage sales activity in CRM and maintain sales metrics.
• Prospect and generate new leads through various channels, including conferences and online platforms (no cold calling).
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the sales cycle.
• Act as the primary contact for client stakeholders, coordinating with project management teams.
• Use prospecting tools, CRM, and outreach automation to track leads.
• Monitor performance metrics in line with KPIs.
• Assist in preparing RFPs/RFIs for bids.
• Engage with senior executives regarding their business needs.
• Attend networking events and trade shows as needed.

Candidate requirements:

• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
• Proven sales experience; experience in language services is preferred but not required.
• Experience in the life sciences sector is an advantage.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and project management skills.
• Leadership ability to inspire teams and achieve objectives.
• Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.

Salary and benefits:
Base salary c45,000 - 50,000 (negotiable) + sales commission. Benefits include: 34 days annual leave, remote work, training, and career progression opportunities.
