Business Development Manager – Flat Roofing Systems (South)
Simon Acres Recruitment are seeking a Business Development Manager for a highly successful and well-established independent supplier of construction products. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver the annual regional sales and margin targets by promoting and selling a defined range of flat roofing systems through our client’s branch network. You will be responsible for strengthening existing customer relationships while actively identifying, targeting, and onboarding new users of flat roofing solutions within your assigned territory - the south.
Package;
- Basic salary of £55-60k DOE + 25% Bonus
- Company Car/Car allowance
Business Development Manager's key Responsibilities;
*
Drive sales performance across the region to achieve agreed sales and margin targets for flat roofing systems
*
Develop and grow both existing and new customer relationships to increase local market penetration
*
Identify, target, and convert new sales opportunities within the assigned product portfolio
*
Own and deliver sales budgets for assigned products within a defined geographical area
*
Provide expert technical and product support to branch teams and customers, helping to secure and close sales opportunities
*
Track and review regional sales and margin performance, addressing underperformance and highlighting growth opportunities
*
Deliver product demonstrations and training sessions to branch teams and customers
*
Actively influence and promote sales through face-to-face customer engagement
*
Provide guidance on product take-offs and quantity calculations where required
*
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and identify new business opportunities
*
Work collaboratively and proactively within the wider sales team
*
Represent our client in a professional, supportive, and courteous manner at all times, including during challenging or conflict situations
*
Accountable for achieving regional sales and margin budgets as part of the wider business objectives
*
Ensure all relevant divisional KPIs are consistently met or exceeded
Skills & Experience Required;
*
Strong technical knowledge of flat roofing systems, including membrane and liquid-applied solutions, from installation through to technical, theoretical, and sales perspectives
*
Broad understanding of flat roofing systems, build-ups, and specifications
*
Working knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice and British / European Standards related to flat roofing
*
Confident user of IT systems including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and CRM platforms
*
Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan ahead and optimise travel routes efficiently
*
Professional, highly motivated, and enthusiastic sales approach
*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*
Ambitious, persistent, and driven to achieve results
*
Ability to confidently impress customers and colleagues with technical knowledge and practical expertise
*

Additional Requirements;
*
Regular travel is required, including occasional overnight stays
