Business Development Manager - Food (Midlands/M62 corridor)
Full time (37.5 h/week) | Permanent | United Kingdom

Your impact within the OQEMA Group
The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organised individual who has a deep understanding of prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers across the Food Industry, with a focus on new business.
Business Growth: Identify and secure new business in manufacturing, or foodservice sectors.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, sustainable relationships with key accounts to ensure repeat business.
Market Analysis & Strategy: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to inform business strategy and product positioning.
Commercial Negotiation: Manage pricing and commercial contracts to ensure high-profit margins.
Product Launches & Marketing: Coordinate with teams to support product development, sampling, NPD
Forecasting: Prepare sales forecasts and reports for senior management.
Networking: Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
Key Qualifications
Industry Experience: Proven experience within the food manufacturing, ingredients or food ingredient distribution industry
Sales Skills: Strong ability to negotiate, pitch, and close deals.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market trends and performance data.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client & principle interaction.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify market gaps and develop growth plans.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ of sales experience within the Food industry
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Customer focussed
- Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contacts.
