About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Business-to-Business Account Manager to join a growing and fast-paced organisation based in Northampton. This role is ideal for someone with strong relationship-building skills, a consultative sales approach, and proven experience managing B2B client accounts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing long-term client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring excellent service delivery to maximise account growth and profitability. Similar Northampton-based B2B account management roles commonly focus on both new business development and existing client retention, with salaries typically starting around £30,000–£40,000+ depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing B2B customer accounts Identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound sales activity Build strong client relationships and act as the main point of contact Prepare quotations, proposals, and service agreements Negotiate pricing and contract terms to maximise profitability Maintain accurate CRM records and account activity reports Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth service delivery Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve issues Achieve monthly revenue, margin, and retention targets Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activityRequirements
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in account management, business development, or B2B sales Proven track record of managing and growing client accounts Strong negotiation and communication skills Excellent organisation and time management abilities Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Self-motivated with a target-driven mindset Ability to work independently and as part of a team Full UK driving licence preferredDesirable
