About the Role As a Catering Chef, you will: Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare and cook a wide range of hot and cold dishes to consistently high standards. Support menu planning, daily specials, and food presentation. Work confidently across all sections including the griddle, hot plate, and meal service areas. Daily Kitchen Tasks Complete daily prep including vegetables, soups, sauces, and batch cooking. Ensure all food is prepared in line with portion control, allergen guidelines, and company standards. Kitchen Operations Work as part of a fast-paced kitchen serving around 300 covers per day. Communicate effectively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams to maintain smooth service flow. Cleaning & Hygiene Ensure all equipment, surfaces, and utensils are cleaned to high standards at the end of each shift. Maintain compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations at all times. Teamwork & Support Contribute positively to the team culture. Support colleagues, share knowledge, and help maintain a friendly, efficient working environment. Essential Skills and Qualifications 2-3 years' experience working in a busy commercial kitchen environment. Strong cooking skills with experience in high-volume catering. A good understanding of food safety, allergen management, and kitchen best practice. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided if required). Able to remain calm under pressure and work efficiently to deadlines. A positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
