Junior Charities Solicitor - NQ-2 PQE

Salary £50,000 - £65,000

A well-respected and highly tiered Legal 500 firm is looking for a junior Solicitor to join their successful Charities team on an exciting and diverse caseload of investigations and inquiries, fundraising , charity property, compliance, dispute resolution, and other matters relating to the setting up and running of philanthropic organisations.

This varied work can include clients related to the Church of England or educational institutions. The firm in open to Solicitors new to the sector, offers a competitive salary, a very good work life balance, and prioritises a good workplace culture making this position particularly appealing to a junior Solicitor with a strong interest in the sector.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting Senior Partners and other lawyers with their caseload of files dealing effectively with a variety of Charity matters to include the formation and management of philanthropic organisations, the acquisition of charity properties, charity commission investigations and inquiries, standards and compliance, reputation management, IP protection, dispute resolution and more.
• Independently managing a personal caseload of smaller matters with significant team support.
• Dealing directly with clients across the sector, exercising the highest standard of care, taking instructions, and ensuring full compliance while building relationships and exercising excellent communication skills.
• Begin to develop a network of clients, contacts, and potential referrers; attend relevant networking events.
• Input and assist with the development of the team.

Skills and Experience:

• UK qualified Solicitor with NQ - years post qualification experience from a reputable and nationally recognised firm.
• Strong relevant experience (preferably but not essentially in charity law) with high quality matters within London.
• The ability to adapt and pick up on new areas with supervision.
• Strong academic background with a 2:1 Undergraduate degree as a minimum
• Understanding and interest of the charities sector.
• A pleasant personality and strong interpersonal skills while interacting with clients and colleagues.
