Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join the culinary team at our prestigious Private Members Club. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-quality, service-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee a designated kitchen section (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry, or larder).
Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standard in line with the clubs menus.
Ensure consistency, quality, and portion control for all dishes served.
Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to maintain kitchen standards and service flow.
Assist in training and supervising Commis Chefs and junior kitchen staff.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with food safety and HACCP standards.
Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising food waste.
Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal dishes.
Ensure all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner during service.
Support kitchen operations during club events, banquets, and private functions.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie in a quality restaurant, hotel, or members club.
Strong knowledge of modern European/British cuisine (or relevant cuisine style).
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety standards.
Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
Culinary qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) preferred.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Desirable Skills
Experience working in private members clubs, luxury hotels, or fine dining restaurants.
Knowledge of se asonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Experience with banqueting and events service.
