Job Overview The role is made up of many varying responsibilities within the kitchen including preparing, cooking, and presenting high quality dishes within a high performance environment. Assisting the Head Chef and other team members in managing the food production, ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities To manage a section in the kitchen to the required standards set by the Head Chef
Ensure good stock and waste control is practiced
Be responsible for the quality control of stock and prepared foods
Execute cooking to the expected high standard quickly and efficiently
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of their designated section
Always maintain a positive and proactive attitude
Comply with all health and safety regulations, the Staff Code of Conduct and company policies
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef and senior management, including placing orders with suppliers from time to time
Knowledge Proven experience in a similar role
Have essential knowledge of food hygiene rules and regulation, applicable to a commercial kitchen
Specialist Skills Be prepared to manage a kitchen section, preparing and presenting food to the required standard
Experienced in handling and preparing fresh produce
Help plan and develop new menu ideas with the support of the Head Chef
People Skills Essential to have a positive outlook and attitude when carrying out various tasks
Required to work not only as a team member, but as a team leader from time to time
External Impact Travel with the team to away fixtures and tours when required
Checking on the food offering at hotels and be prepared to cook a live station
General Club Accountabilities To comply with all Club policies, including health and safety, data regulations and other legal, ethical and social requirements
To build and maintain good working relationships while maintaining a professional image
To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel
To always maintain a flexible approach to work
