Monday to Friday An exciting opportunity to join and lead the catering team of a thriving, progressive co-educational preparatory school. We are looking to appoint an experienced and passionate Chef Manager to lead our busy catering team and create exceptional food for 300 children and staff daily. The position is term-time only (34 weeks p.a.), working 5 days per week (between 7.00am and 2.00pm). Additional hours may be required as overtime for functions and events. There is a team of 5 in the kitchen and where possible they prepare everything in house. You will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of the highest possible standards of food and service providing leadership, support and performance management for staff in the catering department. You will also have responsibility for budget management with regular monitoring and reviews with the Bursar. Key responsibilities include: Developing the menu and preparing delicious, high-quality food Thorough knowledge of catering compliance and food allergens Identifying opportunities to improve our catering service Supplier management, ordering and stock management Managing budgets successfully meeting required financial targets Implementing and reviewing health and safety standards to ensure compliance Supporting the trained catering team and being first point of contact for all staffing
