Chief Executive Officer

New Yesterday

Job Description

Founded in 1959, we are the country’s longest-serving national animal welfare organisation, working to prevent cruelty and relieve the suffering of animals through compassion, education, and practical care.

From donkeys and mules in remote mountain communities to the countless stray cats and dogs of the cities, our mission is to give every animal in Greece a life worth living. We combine direct veterinary and community work with advocacy and education, partnering with organisations such as Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and members of Eurogroup for Animals to deliver long-term change.

In 2024 alone, more than 4,400 animals benefited from our veterinary care, sterilisation, rescue, and education programmes, initiatives that not only transform lives but influence policy and public attitudes across Greece.

Salary: £55,000–£60,000

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We seek a new Chief Executive to ensure our continued growth, sustainability, and impact, with a particular focus on strengthening and diversifying our income.

Reporting to our Chair, you will provide inspirational, collaborative leadership across our geographically dispersed organisation. Oversee the delivery of our programmes. Alongside this, you will combine sound financial and operational management with the ability to inspire teams, build partnerships, and engage supporters, underpinned by a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

A willingness and ability to take personal responsibility for driving income growth will be essential to success in this role.

In return, you will have the opportunity to join a values-led, financially resilient charity with strong foundations, work with a supportive Board and a committed team, and have the chance to create lasting change.
