• MyFridays : Enables Muslims to give charity every Friday, focusing on the spiritual benefits of giving during the Hour of Acceptance, making regular charitable contributions easy to manage.

Role Objective

As the CEO of Shamaazi, you will lead our mission-driven fintech organisation into its next phase of growth, innovation, and global impact. You will develop and execute strategic initiatives, drive business expansion, and ensure our products continue to create meaningful change in the charitable giving space. Reporting to our Founder, you will oversee all aspects of the company, from product improvements, continued growth, operational efficiency to team leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vision & Strategic Direction

• Define and communicate a bold, compelling vision that positions Shamaazi as a global leader in tech-enabled charitable giving.
• Set and evolve the long-term strategic roadmap, aligning innovation and execution with Shamaazi’s mission to transform fundraising through technology.
• Identify and prioritise opportunities for growth, expansion, and product evolution - driven by market insight, user needs, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure the company remains at the forefront of the fintech-for-good and Islamic giving space.

2. Company Growth & Financial Stewardship

• Own the company’s commercial trajectory - ensuring sustainable, diversified revenue growth while maintaining strong financial discipline.
• Work with the finance and operations leads to oversee forecasting, budgeting, and performance metrics that support long-term scalability.
• Drive high-level decisions on resource allocation and capital strategy to maximise impact and shareholder value.
• Inspire, align, and support the senior leadership team across product, engineering, growth, operations, and customer success.
• Embed a high-performance, mission-first culture rooted in purpose, transparency, and accountability.
• Champion a culture of ownership, innovation, and collaboration in a remote-first environment.
• Serve as the cultural custodian of Shamaazi - attracting, retaining, and developing top-tier talent.
• Set product vision in partnership with the product and engineering leaders - ensuring our flagship offerings (e.g. MyTenNights, MyTenDays, MyFridays) scale with excellence.
• Push the frontier of innovation by guiding strategic bets, refining value propositions, and ensuring world-class user experience.
• Support a culture of data-informed experimentation to optimise user engagement, donor retention, and impact-per-pound.
• Oversee regulatory, legal, and governance alignment at the product and platform level.

5. External Relations & Strategic Partnerships

• Act as the primary external face of the company - cultivating trust across donors, partners, charities, regulators, and media.
• Lead strategic partnership development, with a focus on Islamic finance alignment, ethical innovation, and global distribution.
• Expand Shamaazi’s voice and thought leadership across conferences, publications, and mission-aligned communities.
• Build long-term alliances that amplify reach, deepen impact, and future-proof our mission.

• Credible External Spokesperson capable of inspiring donors, partners, and the public—comfortable on stage, in the media, and with regulators.

Our Team and the Way We Work

• Our team is fully remote with quarterly in-person team gatherings in central London depending upon team requirements. Senior Leadership Team are likely to meet on a more regular basis based on business needs.
