Children's Residential Support Worker

New Yesterday

At Amegreen Children’s Services, we provide therapeutic residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in warm, nurturing homes across rural West Berkshire and Hampshire. Our teams use a trauma-informed, PACE-based approach to help young people feel safe, understood and able to grow, supported by strong clinical input and a warm, reflective staff culture.
The role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team providing day-to-day care, support and guidance for children and young people living in our homes. You will work a shift rota that includes days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
What you’ll be doing
* Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people
* Support daily routines such as school, mealtimes, activities and bedtime
* Help young people develop life skills, confidence and independence
* Plan and take part in meaningful activities, from PlayStation and board games to outdoor time on the trampoline and swings
* Support trips and experiences such as the cinema, bowling, museums and days out at the seaside
* Accompany young people to school, appointments, family time and activities
Experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs (for example in residential care, schools, youth work, SEN, health or social care) is helpful but not essential. We provide full training for the right people with the right values.
