Childrens Residential Support Worker

We are recruiting caring, reliable and emotionally attuned Residential Support Workers to jointherapeutic childrens homes, supporting children aged 510 years who have experienced early trauma. This is a permanent rolewith lots of on-going potential. The Role You will play a vital role in providing children with: Consistent, nurturing and reliable care

Clear boundaries, emotional safety and secure attachments

A positive, trusted adult role model

You will work within a therapeutic, psychoanalytic and group-relations model, where behaviour is understood as communication and relationships are central to change and development. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day care, nurture, structure and emotional containment

Act as a Link Worker, delivering individual sessions and therapeutic special time under supervision

Support childrens emotional, behavioural, educational, medical and social needs

Create a safe, calm and therapeutic home environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan routines, transitions and care strategies

Safeguard children at all times and follow all recording and reporting procedures

Use creative and imaginative approaches to enhance childrens experiences

Support children with play, activities, school routines and community engagement

Participate in food preparation, domestic tasks and maintaining a homely environment

As a last resort, safely physically manage behaviour that presents a risk (training provided)

Attend team meetings, clinical supervision and operational meetings

Work flexibly, including travel where required

What Were Looking For Experience working with children (e.g. residential care, schools, family support, youth work, SEN, or similar)

A calm, caring, reliable and emotionally resilient nature

An understanding that childrens behaviour often stems from trauma

Ability to reflect on your own responses and accept guidance and support

Commitment to building long-term, therapeutic relationships

Essential Requirements Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Ability to work 40 hours per week, including sleep-ins

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (If not on the Update Service, we can process one for you)

Training & Development We offer a comprehensive onboarding and development programme, including: Team Teach / Positive Behaviour Support

Restraint and physical intervention training

Level 3 Residential Childcare Qualification

Ongoing therapeutic and clinical supervision
