Senior Social Worker - Adoption Team

Thurrock Council is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Adoption Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across the full adoption journey within a supportive and well-established service.

About the Role

You will be involved in all aspects of adoption, including:

Recruitment and assessment of adopters Delivering preparation training and information events Family finding and matching for children Supporting adopters post-placement Working with birth parents Completing post-adoption and SGO assessments Preparing court reports (including non-agency and stepparent adoptions) Working in partnership with Adopt East

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years PQE Adoption experience is essential Strong background in statutory childcare Excellent report writing and communication skills Social Work England registration
