About the Role As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a key role in the safe, professional, and efficient movement of palletised freight across our network.
Your responsibilities will include: Operating curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products.
Trunking palletised freight between depots and pallet‑network hubs on planned day routes.
Ensuring all freight is correctly loaded, secured, and restrained, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment in line with network standards.
Completing thorough daily vehicle safety checks-both pre‑departure and end‑of‑shift-using your company device to maintain full compliance.
Accurately handling all paperwork, scanning, and freight verification, ensuring smooth hub and depot operations.
Maintaining regular, clear communication with the Transport Team, providing updates, reporting issues, and helping manage customer expectations.
Representing the business professionally at all customer sites, depots, and network hubs.
Participating in ongoing training and development, staying up to date with industry standards and best practice.
Essential Skills and Qualifications Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Confident, polite, and a team player.
Good geographical knowledge.
Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
