A high-performing primary school in Southwark is seeking an ambitious and experienced
Class Teacher & Early Years Lead
to join their leadership team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner ready to take the next step into a
phase leadership role within Early Years (EYFS) , driving standards and shaping an engaging curriculum.
The Role
You will:
Deliver high-quality teaching within your class, ensuring strong pupil progress
Lead the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), driving curriculum development and outcomes
Monitor and analyse pupil data to inform teaching and intervention strategies
Support and develop colleagues within the Early Years team
Ensure high-quality phonics provision and early learning experiences
Build strong relationships with parents and lead workshops/engagement sessions
Support smooth transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1
Contribute to whole-school improvement and leadership initiatives
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching in Early Years or Primary
Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and primary curriculum
Experience using data to raise attainment
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable
Previous leadership or phase lead experience
Experience mentoring or coaching staff
Experience within a multi-academy trust setting
