Class Teacher (Music) / Visiting Specialist of Music - Part-time (working Wednesdays, although this can be changed by mutual agreement).
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Class Teacher who can deliver music lessons or a Music Specialist with a passion for teaching primary aged pupils music to join our team on a part-time basis, one day per week. About Yester Primary School

To undertake class-teaching duties
Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL).
Visiting Specialist of Music
To teach a designated subject (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) in line
Contribute to the assessment and reporting on the work of pupils.
Contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
Consult with and assist colleagues on subject specific education issues.
Plan and school policies as considered appropriate by the Head Teacher.
Maintain good order and discipline among pupils and to safeguard their health and safety.
Advise and guide pupils on issues related to their education.

Temporary Posts: GTCS Full registration (General) / Provisional registration
Visiting Specialist of Music
GTCS registration in subject advertised (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) or GTCS registered Primary Teacher with a degree in that subject.
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
If you have spent more than 3 months working or living outwith the UK in the last 5 years then you will be required to present a copy of an overseas criminal record check. UK website.

Note - Pay arrangements for those starting after 1st day of school session
In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT - Appendix 2.19), Teachers who commence employment with East Lothian Council after the first day of the school session will have their salary for the remainder of the school salary year (which runs from 1 August to 31 July each year), recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue leave and pay.
