The Role
As Platform Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of core platforms across both public and private cloud environments.
You'll: Lead, mentor and develop a cross-functional platform engineering team Define and deliver the platform strategy, roadmap and backlog Drive adoption of cloud-first and hybrid solutions (Azure and private cloud) Oversee the design and operation of internal developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks Embed observability, reliability and SRE practices to improve performance and reduce incidents Champion infrastructure as code, self-service capabilities and developer experience Ensure platforms are secure, compliant and resilient, including disaster recovery and risk management Work closely with stakeholders across the business, translating technical concepts into clear outcomes The person
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with people leadership and strategic thinking. You'll likely have: Experience leading platform engineering or DevOps teams in hybrid cloud environments Strong knowledge of Azure and private cloud technologies (e.g. VMware, Nutanix) Hands-on experience with automation, CI/CD, Kubernetes and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) A solid understanding of security, compliance and risk in cloud environments Experience delivering scalable, reliable and secure platforms Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels The role is paying up to £90k + benefits and is based 2 days per week from the office (Canary Wharf, London).
