An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially aware, hands-on Club Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a well-established and highly regarded members golf club. Chorley Golf Club, founded in 1897, is set within beautiful moorland countryside on the edge of the West Pennine Moors. The Club offers a high-quality golf and social experience for members, visitors, golf societies and private events, with scope to further grow both its hospitality and golf income. We are seeking an experienced, member-focussed Club Manager who can deliver excellent service standards, strong team leadership and a welcoming club environment, while supporting the continued success and development of the Club. £40,000 This role would suit an experienced Golf or other Club/Venue Manager looking for a rewarding leadership position in a unique environment. The Role As Club Manager you will take responsibility for the overall management and performance of the Club, ensuring members and guests receive a consistently high-quality experience. You will play a key role in maintaining high levels of member satisfaction, while also supporting growth in visitor play, events and overall club revenue. You will lead the operational team, oversee events and functions, and ensure the Club runs efficiently, professionally and in line with its values and traditions. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operation of the clubhouse and facilities Lead, motivate and develop the clubhouse team including bar and administrative staff Lead on the recruitment and retention of club members Deliver exceptional member and guest service, ensuring high levels of member satisfaction Oversee and manage bookings for functions, golf societies and private events Support the promotion and growth of the Clubs events and hospitality offering Liaise with the clubs caterer to ensure that excellent support is provided to meet the needs of members, visitors and events Identify and implement opportunities to increase utilisation and revenue from the golf course, including visitor play and societies Coordinate bar operations including stock control and supplier management Ensure that accurate records are maintained within the club IT systems and produce management information for the Board Attend Board meetings and take minutes Work with the Accounts Manager to monitor budgets, control costs and improve profitability Liaise with the Head Greenkeeper and Club Professional to ensure a seamless golf and visitor experience Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing and employment legislation Manage and develop the Clubs social media presence to promote events, visitor play and member engagement Promote the Club through marketing, partnerships and local engagement Maintain a professional, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for members and guests About You We are looking for a professional, organised and commercially aware manager who thrives in a hospitality-led environment. You will ideally have: Experience in golf club, hospitality,leisure or venue management Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent customer service and communication abilities Experience managing events or functions A proactive and organised approach with good commercial awareness Experience or confidence in using social media for business promotion Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required Experience within a members club or golf environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
