CNC Machinist – Precision Manufacturing
Rotherham Permanent £16.00 - £19.00 Monday–Fridday | 07:00am – 16:00pm
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision manufacturing operation based in Rotherham. This is a permanent role, offering long-term stability, excellent working hours, and the chance to work on high-precision components within a quality-driven environment.
The Role You will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of CNC milling machines, producing complex components to tight tolerances and exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
*
Program, set, and run 3-axis CNC Bridgeport VMC machines, including use of a 4th axis unit
*
Work primarily with Heidenhain controls (experience preferred), with strong CNC programming skills essential
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings, including a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
*
Produce components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
*
Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
*
Interpret and work from CMM and inspection data
*
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimise downtime
*
Set CNC machines and support semi-skilled operators to ensure accurate and consistent production
*
Maintain compliance with quality standards
Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
*
Strong CNC programming, setting, and operating experience
*
Confident working independently and as part of a production team
*
Experience machining castings would be an advantage
*
A quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
