A specialist precision engineering manufacturer is expanding it's Midlands operation and is looking to hire an experienced CNC Machinist to join their growing team.
This CNC Machinist role sits within a high-spec tool grinding environment, working on 5 axis CNC machines producing precision carbide cutting tools for industries such as aerospace, medical, and motor sport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Machinist looking to develop their skills in a more specialist area, with clear progression and strong earning potential through shift premiums.
What you'll be doing as a CNC Machinist
* Working as a CNC Machinist setting and operating 5 axis CNC machines
* Producing precision carbide tools to tight tolerances
* Working with advanced grinding machinery including Walter and Rollomatic
* Carrying out inspection using appropriate measuring equipment
* Monitoring machine performance and resolving issues
* Supporting operators with technical queries and setup guidance
Essential skills needed from the CNC Machinist:
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a precision engineering environment
* Experience setting and operating CNC machines independently
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Experience working to tight tolerances
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Desirable skills needed from the CNC Machinist:
* Experience within a CNC tool grinding environment
* Exposure to machines such as Walter, Rollomatic or similar
* Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification.
