CNC Setter and Operator, Programmer

Location: Kent / Essex Border

Salary: up to £35,000, 4 Day week, working hours Monday to Thursday (Apply online only); 37-hour week

Our client has an excellent opportunity for a CNC Setter and Operator. Reporting into the Production Manager, the candidate must be experienced in aerospace engineering sector, working with high tolerance parts. You will be required to program, set and run a variety of 1st operation machine tools, CNC machines inclusive of sliding and fixed-head CNC. Ideally looking for a candidate who can programme on CADCAM in addition to support the effective running of the shop floor. Responsible for coordination of programming and setting to point of satisfactory first off and review current product ranges to improve efficiency of manufacture. The candidate will endeavour to reduce waste and improve productivity, in line with zero defect philosophy, through increased effectiveness and efficiency whenever possible.

CNC Setter and Operator – Miller / Turner duties will consist of:

Set and Run 1st Operations machinery safely - CNC machines including fixed head, sliding head, Lathes, turning mills and Bar feeders (including Dooson, Hardinge, Mori and Star)

Support as required, with set and run 2nd Operations machinery safely – thread rollers, grinding, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers and deburrers (manual/rotary etc).
